CONTENT

Planning content

We will examine the proper way to begin and end speeches, as well as the content of each stage of the process, which is essential to communicate in an orderly and effective manner.
The power of storytelling

We will discover and put into practice the inherent power of telling a story to make the message more impactful, memorable and credible. These stories should come from personal experiences that are relevant and important to the speaker. In this way, the message penetrates powerfully into your audience, since illustrating an argument has a much greater impact than demonstrating it.
Non-verbal communication

We will learn to control emotions (nervousness, lack of self-confidence...) in order to develop personal confidence, credibility in front of the audience and coherence between the verbal and non-verbal message, the importance of the first impression and the importance of creating a connection between the speaker and the audience. To do this, we will learn how to be aware of and take care of our own image, which we project through our gestures, expressions and external appearance.
Basic skills in public speaking

We will work on three essential skills:
Authority: to show that we really mean what we say.
Energy:to show that we really care about the subject we are discussing.
Audience awareness:to ensure that our communication is interactive and that each listener can identify with the message.
Effective communication and leadership style

Effective communication and leadership are strongly linked. In general, we tend to lean towards either an argumentative and detailed approach or a persuasive and motivational method. Although we naturally favour one or the other, it is useful to develop the ability to use the opposite style with some degree of efficiency in order to master both.
Practical tasks

  1. During the programme, participants will be asked to deliver three types of speeches which will be evaluated by their peers:
Rational speech (logos):aimed at organising ideas during interviews, informal meetings or business presentations through a deductive format.
Special occasion speech(ethos): aimed at creating the right emotional environment in order to convince or inspire others in a moment of crisis.
Visionary speech (pathos):aimed at making people feel confident and gaining credibility in order to gain commitment to the speaker's project, idea or dream.
In addition, these presentations will be filmed for self-evaluation and exclusive use by each participant.

METHODOLOGY

A series of lectures and practical exercises in the classroom are combined, including voice education, non-verbal communication, oral presentations and speeches, video recording and individual feedback. The participants will be divided into small organized groups to obtain a high level of trust between them and the faculty and thus create an optimal learning environment.
